Willie Singletary, a judge in Philadelphia traffic court, was suspended for allegedly showing a photo of his genitals to his employee. The current acting administrative judge of Philadelphia traffic court, Court of Common Pleas Judge Gary S. Glazer, claims Singletary submitted his resignation over the phone.

Under state law, a judge must submit his resignation directly to a governor. Singletary must resubmit his resignation to the governor for it to be recognized.
Singletary’s attorney, William J. Brennan, has not submitted any comment.

The Supreme Court suspended Singletary in January. The Judicial Conduct Board will review the offense.

Glazer took over Singletary’s duties after a female employee filed the complaint. Hence after, Singletary confronted the employee to influence her into backing down.

Glazer took over traffic court when the Supreme Court ruled that judges were influenced by political sources. To date, three traffic court judges have faced a grand jury that is investigating the court.

Singletary occupied the post in 2007. His campaign hinted at favorable treatment in traffic court for campaign contributors. Before running for office in 2006, he served as a pastor in a west Philadelphia church called the City of Refuge. It is a church that he established himself.
